Construction in Armenia up 25% in the first seven months of 2026

According to the Statistical Committee, construction output in Armenia reached AMD 369.2 billion in January–July 2026, 25% more than a year earlier. Half of it was in the real estate sector.

The figures

According to Statistical Committee data published on 9 September 2026, construction work worth AMD 369.2 billion at current prices was carried out in seven months. That is 25% more than in January–July 2025. July alone accounted for AMD 87 billion, up 26.5% on July last year.

Growth has held up all year: 22% in the first quarter, 24.1% over five months and 24.5% over the half-year.

Real estate projects accounted for AMD 185.7 billion, or 50.3% of the total.

What it means for buyers

  • Demand is shifting to new builds: in Q2 2026 the primary market accounted for 54% of apartment sales in Yerevan (Cadastre data).
  • Banks are actively lending to the sector: loans to construction stood at about AMD 952 billion at the end of June 2026.
  • More construction means more choice, but also makes checking the developer and documents more important.
